Tasting Notes
A deep set garnet in color, the 2014 Passionné embodies elegance and makes a statement from the beginning. Copious aromas of red fruits, tobacco, damp earth, pencil lead, and cocoa first hit the nose. As time allows, layers of bay leaf, cigar box and floral hints accompany. In the mouth, the purity of the fruit and weight to the mid-palate lend to one needing another sip. Flavors of deep raspberry, cassis, graphite and cocoa are followed by soft, lush tannin. It has a persistence which lingers on the tongue. Bountiful in nature, velvety yet stately, this profoundly balanced expression of Cabernet Sauvignon lends itself to being drinkable today, but also promises a long life in the cellar.Vineyard Notes
Sourced from vineyards both owned and purchased by Fleury Estate, the Passionné is a Bordeaux-style wine of distinction. The Fleury Estate Passionné is a harmonious blend; highlighting the king of all grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon. A beautiful dark set color sets the stage. The blending of varietals at select percentages combines a deep full core and nuanced notes in a wonderful, enticing medley.
